The United Way of PEI’s Atlantic Compassion Fund is no longer accepting applications.  

Thanks to the support of the Province of PEI, private sector and individual donations, the Compassion Fund is currently supporting 21 organizations across PEI. 

Fund Criteria 

These funds were available to registered charities serving marginalized community members across PEI to address immediate needs unavailable through other means. 

Eligible expenses for the fund could included: 

  • Delivery costs, where other community transportation options are not available 

  • Adequate supply of medication or essential needs. 

  • Funds for mental health support or wellness checks, not covered by regular operations 

  • Access to cleaning supplies, personal items, protective equipment/clothing 

  • Access to food for specific dietary requirements not able to be accessed through food bank network. 

Other immediate needs or supports: 

  • Charitable organization serving those most marginalized by poverty and COVID-19 

  • Is focused on a new or greater need as a result of COVID-19  

  • Meets an immediate need 

  • Fills a gap
