Day of Caring

Day of Caring is a unique opportunity for workplaces that support the United Way of PEI to build both a sense of community and teamwork through the completion of community service projects.  We connect you – the donor – to a local project so that you can experience the impact your donation is making in the community. Day of Caring generates positive community relationships and helps to develop contacts between volunteers, agencies, and workplaces. This annual event gives each of us an opportunity to roll-up our sleeves and work together to make a difference in non-profit agencies in our community, and for the people they serve.

In 2019, we were grateful to more than 80 volunteers completing 7 projects supporting a variety of non-profits across the Island. Volunteers helped plant trees, worked at the PGI Golf Tournament, assisted with yard and garden clean up, landscaping and more...Initiatives were supported at the following locations:

·         Habitat for Humanity

·         Cornwall and Area Watershed Group

·         Bedeque Bay Environmental Management Association

·         PGI Golf Tournament for literacy

·         Boys and Girls Club of Summerside

·         Blooming House

·         Anderson House

Huge thank you to the volunteers from...

·         RBC

·         TD

·         Red Shores

·         BMO

·         Veteran Affairs Canada

·         Medavie Blue Cross

Our 2020 Day of Caring is being planned for June 5th.
