The United Way of PEI is working diligently with our network of community organizations to help our most vulnerable, as well as those experiencing additional hardships due to loss of work, and/or social isolation.
We are working hard to get these organizations the resources they need to support our PEI communities during this unprecedented time.
I am truly thankful to be part of such a caring community, as shown by the support of our donors and corporate partners every year through their United Way giving. Now, more than ever, we count on your continued support today, and in the days ahead.
With the help of Atlantic Business Interiors,
we, along with the 10 other United Ways in Atlantic Canada, have created the
Atlantic Compassion Fund.
This fund will assist people struggling with the most basic needs at this time such as food, shelter, access to medications and mental health supports. These funds will compliment, not duplicate, government and other community initiatives.
If you are in a position to help, please consider donating to the Atlantic Compassion Fund. We will ensure this support gets to the front-line community organizations that are helping meet basic and urgent needs across PEI.
Also, if you know of an organization that could use some support, please direct them to apply to our Fund.
We know that the people living in PEI communities stick together. We know that we look out for one another. We know we all care. We want to thank everyone that is doing their part, but especially I want to thank staff and volunteers providing essential services every day.
United Way is proud to be an agency that brings people together for positive change. We can all be the change we want to see, as we all help each other through this trying time.
Please stay safe, and continue to show your "Local Love".
