National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

As we grapple with the devastation left behind by Hurricane Fiona, it is essential for each of us to remember the importance this land has to all of us, including Indigenous communities, across the Island. The National Day of Truth and Reconciliation is for many a day of mourning as we process the loss of communities, homes, and a sense of security; for the Mi'kmaq, those sentiments are compounded.

As we navigate the difficult days ahead, we will use our combined resources to rebuild pathways to reconciliation among Indigenous populations and within ourselves, while acknowledging this work can not be done by any individual working alone. We at United Way of PEI believe that we are truly only United when we remember that we are stronger together, and today we stand with all of the members of our community as we remember our history and recover from our present, to build a better future for everyone. #NDTR #StrongerUnited
