Journey in #Eastsizing

Journey in #Eastsizing

Written by: Jill Chandler

We were settled on the West Coast, it was where we built our family
But over time, we knew we wanted more
So we talked and dreamed about it
Until we chose our next adventure
It was one we were excited for

Chorus:
So we packed our bags and we moved along
And the car was full, but the weight was gone
And it’s not all that surprising
That our journey in #Eastsizing
Brought us to the place we belong

When we arrived here on the East Coast, we were met with smiling faces
Before too long our Island life began
And my little wild child,
Spread his wings, began to take flight
Supported by united hands

Chorus:
So we packed our bags and we moved along
And the car was full, but the weight was gone
And it’s not all that surprising
That our journey in #Eastsizing
Brought us to the place we belong

Since the day that you were born, I knew that I would do most anything
To show you all the beauty we could
But with your precious heart and mind
I think it’s you, who showed me everything
It’s you who’s brought the best in me

Chorus:
So we packed our bags and we moved along
And the car was full, but the weight was gone
And it’s not all that surprising
That our journey in #Eastsizing
Brought us to the place belong

And it’s not all that surprising
That our journey in #Eastsizing
Gave our family hope and made us strong.

Worse for Wear

Worse for Wear

Written by: Logan Richard

Does the Okanogan valley
Still look the way it did?
The way I remember it
From when I was a kid

I wish that I could still play
My cards the same way
My brothers had it easy/had so much freedom
They could just leave, drive away
I don’t have a chip on my shoulder
But the weight they carry, is a lot to bear
It doesn’t get any easier as I get older
But I won’t say that I’m worse for wear
Now that I’m growing up
There’s so much more at stake
It’s a half empty kind of cup
Less give, more take

But I keep my head up high
And keep my ear to the ground
I do more than just get by
I’m happy where I am found

I don’t have a chip on my shoulder
But the weight they carry, is a lot to bear
It doesn’t get any easier as I get older
But I won’t say that I’m worse for wear

I’ve yet to accept
My disposition, and my condition

But I don’t have a chip on my shoulder
But the weight they carry, is a lot to bear
It doesn’t get any easier as I get older
But I won’t say that I’m worse for wear

I Drew, I drew

I Drew, I drew

Written by: Jenni & The Hummingbird

Intro
Melodic Voices "Ahs"
Verse 1
I could feel a whisper
Deep inside,
Wanting to be brought
Into the light.

My heart felt like
A bird in a cage,
Wanting to fly but
It couldn’t escape.

Bridge
I tried to let it out,
So quiet but felt so loud
 (so loud).

Verse 2
Tangled in knots
That build up in my chest,
How do I tell the ones who
Think they know me best?

Choking on silence,
Smothered by thoughts in my mind,
I push them away
But they come back every time.

Instrumental

Chorus

I drew a picture of a universe
Where I didn’t need to rehearse
Simply speaking out loud
To a friend or a stranger anymore.

I drew a picture when I couldn’t speak,
Put my anger in pencils and couldn’t seem
To keep them from breaking,
I felt like I was breaking too.
Outro
I, Drew, I Drew (x4)

Melt the Ice

Melt the Ice

Written by: Fraser McCallum

I came on a breeze, to the gentle Isle
A want for nothin, a happy child

But to my dismay, I couldn’t grow
My clock it stopped, I felt alone

I found a crew, for best or worse
Inside a cloud, my head reversed
We stole when we could, consumed the rest
The pain it grew inside my chest

A way out. A way out.

Down from the Mount, I tried school again
Pushed and pulled, and played pretend
I survived, without a friend
Except bartenders, and a special blend

I fooled them all,
But it don’t feel right
Is this even me, is this even life?

Hit the bell, I drifted on from school
Banged up my car, fought like a fool
Came to the edge, came in with spite
Hid it all in plain site

Down from the Hollow, back to the Mount
Hittin' rock bottom, of this grey account
But a spark of light on Valentine’s,
A stranger’s words, made me feel alright…

Melt the ice
Help me feel alright
Break the chain,
Start for real tonight
Throw me a line, it starts tonight

From Lacey House, the help showed up
Hands reached out, and filled my cup
Gave me a chance, gave me time
Found my grip, and I grabbed the line

I took the past, gave it away
Now I’ve got a job, and my own place
I’m helpin’ strangers, I’m good what I do
In warrior mode, I’m pushin’ through

Melt the ice
Help me feel alright
Break the chain
Start for real tonight
Just gimme time
Help me feel alright

Grab the line
There’s a spark tonight, my friend
You got it all
There’s a spark tonight, my friend
Stand up tall
On your way, again

United By Song

United By Song

Written by: John Connolly

Sometimes it feels like you have no voice,
like there’s no one you can trust.
Sometimes it feels like people only care if they must.

But when you really start to raise your voice
it’s multiplied by two
when someone listens, when someone listens,
when someone really listens to you.

And in the long run, we all need somebody,
someone who can understand just where you belong.
And if there’s someone who can do it for you
then you need to raise your voice and be united by song.

The teller of the tale and the singer of the song,
they’re really one and the same.
They’re seekers of truth and keepers of the flame.

And you’re not an island
no matter who you are.
If you’re going alone, you won’t get far.
Going alone, you won’t get far.

‘Cause in the long run, we all need somebody,
someone who can understand just where you belong.
And if there’s someone who can do it for you
then you need to raise your voice and be united by song.

Yes, in the long run, we all need somebody,
someone who can understand just where you belong.
And if there’s someone who can do it for you
then you need to raise your voice and be united by song.
